Music: Get down to the Delta at the Open Mic night

THAMES Delta Open Mic welcomes all styles and abilities. It started as a jam night in 2013 and fast became recognized as the place to be in Thurrock and surrounding counties if you was passionate about music, as well as the locals they have people travel from Kent, Ipswich, Southend on a regular basis

They have performers and bands of all ages from 16 to 60+, some of which are: Danny White a local favorite, Ren Stedman a rising star, the more well known local performers like Graham Okey, Tall Dark Friend, members of The Tritts.

It is obvious Thurrock has a wealth of talent, artists to look out for in the future are, Thom Cruz, Luke Sanders, Chris Hutton, Paul Elliot, The Jameau Twins, Paul Woodley, Klair to name a few.

A spokesperson said:

"We get music from Rock, to Pop to Rockabilly, some favorites are local floor filling bands like, Double Treble, The Sidewinders, The Blue Note Outfit, Spring Heeled Jack, Harry Cash and The Loose Change, Finding Miranda.

"Some local artists have became legends in there own right from performing week after week, Chris Hutton, Don & Barry, Stevie Boy Blue, Jon D, there far to many names to mention

"We pride our self in the uniqueness of the nights, enabling individuals from all generations and walks of life to come together through music, we have some great plans for 2015.

"We plan to take what we call The Thames Delta All Stars who performed at T Fest last year on a mini tour of Thurrock, once every month or so we will have what we are calling a Thames Delta band night at the Thameside Theatre, our next event here is on Saturday 4th April where we will feature The All Stars and some of the favoured acts from the open mic events. The performers have given up there time in an effort to inject some much needed arts and culture into the area and the support from the local community’s have been phenomenal.

‘We plan to release a Thames Delta album with Local Record label Solid Vinyl music, Solid Vinyl is an underground label that has been releasing home grown Thurrock music since 1998 and is recognized internationally, The release date is November 2015 and will be available from all digital media stores, it will feature as many TDOM performers as possible, there are still spaces left and we would love to hear from more local talent.
