Police renew appeal over armed robbery in Chadwell St Mary

POLICE are today renewing an appeal for information about an armed robbery last month.

Two masked men entered the One Stop Shop in Defoe Parade, Chadwell St Mary, at 3.10pm on January 26.

They produced a hand gun and threatened staff. No-one was injured.

The suspects stole £900 cash from the tills and an unknown quantity of tobacco pouches.

They ran down Longhurst Road into Wokingdon Road. It is believed they may have been driving a blue, older style model Vauxhall Vectra.

Officers carried out a search of the area and a police helicopter was deployed.

The suspects were not found.

Both are described as male, white, aged 21-40 years old and had dark coverings over their faces.

A number of customers were at the shop at the time and police would like to hear from anyone with information about the incident to call detectives at Grays on Essex Police 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
