ON Saturday the 14th March a community litter picking day will take place in Stanford le Hope.
The organiser Ella Vine, Labour’s candidate in local elections for Stanford West said: ”We want to make the town centre and surrounding areas nice and clean for Easter, spring and the new community initiative Stanford Blooming Marvels.
"Thurrock Council’s crew does a great job cleaning the town centre every early morning but litter can still be found elsewhere. There are a few footpaths in Stanford, which are not owned by the council and to whom no one claims responsibility to clean them. These footpaths are used by people on daily basis and we want to use a community spirit to make Stanford look good – together.
"Community litter picking days are organised up and down the country and it is a great way of bringing community together and have fun at the same time. I hope the community will join us”.
Meeting at 12 noon on King Street outside Special Occasions in Stanford le Hope, Saturday the 14th March.
