MANAGEMENT, players and fans of Grays Athletic will be out and about in Grays town centre on Friday as the club bid to raise awareness of the team in its historical home.

It is now close to five years since the Blues, left the town. With that in mind, the club has launched a series of initiatives to put the Blues in the minds of Grays residents.

They will be helped by recent worldwide publicity over Grays player manager’s heroics as he came off the bench against Hampton and Richmond to score and equaliser and then go in goal to save a penalty.

The team have been in impressive form since Mark Bentley took over and have reached the final of the Isthmian League Cup.

But crowds have been low at their Mill Field home in Aveley. In some cases, the number in the ground has been as low as 80. Which is a shame as the team play attractive, dynamic football.

The question of the team moving back to the town is still very much in the air. But, the determination and will seem to be there. It is all about the right plan.

The team will be in Grays from 1030 am to 1230 am.
