THE Brentwood half marathon saw a huge entry of 3500 battle round the lanes

north of Brentwood. Only 3 of them came from Thurrock Harriers

Keith Willett, who has been in the sport for less than two years, can be very pleased

with his 62nd place with a time of 84m13s. When he first joined the club his pb

for 10k was well outside 40 minutes. His time here constituted a sub 40 minute

    pace for double the distance.

John Russell was 94th in 87m52s. As always his effort was well judged and the result satisfactory.

Just behind him, but unable to catch him, was Jason Syrett with a time of 88m1s. This time indicates he can get close to his best time for the Marathon later this spring.

Older Thurrock Harriers will remember Jamie Seamark, now living in Norfolk, who was

    10th with 76m40s.

Grays based Dennis Cross, in his first race for many months, was 16th in 78m09s.
