Prince’s Trust is looking for new people to join the programme

THURROCK Council is on the lookout for young people to join its latest 12-week personal development and employability programme.

The next Prince’s Trust team is aimed at people aged between 16 and 25, who are unemployed and living in the borough.

For the first time, a Meet the Team event is being held on Thursday, 9 April at 2pm at the Thurrock Adult Community College in Richmond Road, Grays, where people interested in joining the programme can meet the young people on the current team and find out about how the scheme works.

The main taster day for the next programme – Team 10 – will be on 19 May between 10.30am and 2.30pm at Thurrock Adult Community College.

The 12-week course see participants carry out voluntary work in the community, raise funds, have a week’s residential course and secure a series of qualifications in Food and Hygiene, First Aid, and Health and Safety, as well as the Prince’s Trust national Certificate Level 1 Employment, Teamwork and Community Skills.

The official start date for the new team is 26 May.
