    Rugby: Thurrock 50 v 0 Woodford

    THURROCK entertained close neighbours Woodford ain an encounter that had an end of season feel about it. Woodford have endured a horrible season and are already relegated, Thurrock who were safe two games ago, were still hurting from their humiliating defeat the previous week.

    Thurrock had the perfect start when within 5 minutes Charlie Russo went over for the opening score, Tom Worsfold added the conversion. Thurrock endured a frustrating 25 minutes when they huff and puffed but fell short on numerous occasions, but from a catch and drive James Flavin was at the bottom to score again, Worsfold was on target with on the conversion, then added a penalty. Thurrock centre Earl Gorman then wriggled over for a try and Worsfold conversion was the last play of the half for a lead of 24-0

    The game continued in much the same vain and Thurrock secured their bonus point victory after scoring 4 more tries, Charlie Russo added his second , then denied his hat trick as the referee gave a penalty try before Russo could ground the ball with the line at his mercy. Nat Farrell making a welcome return after over 3 months out also went over and Freddie Russo made it a family affair when also adding a late try. Tom Worsfold added 3 more conversion to the tally to record a comfortable win

    Thurrock have two more games left, 11th April they visit Barking, and the season’s finale at Home to Old Priorians the following week
