Grays Athletic 3 v 2 Wingate and Finchley
IF ANYONE wasn’t taking Grays Athletic seriously, then they really should do now as they beat fellow promotion contenders, Wingate and Finchley, 3-1 at Mill Field.
Two goals by Joao Carlos (17 and 70) and a penalty by James Steven in the 23rd minute catapulted Grays into the play off places for the first time this season.
Wingate did get a goal back just after half time and another in injury time but were no match for Mark Bentley’s men who have the crucial element of momentum as they enter their final four games.
They are now simply the team that people would really rather avoid.
However, Grays fans will still stress that they have four very very difficult games but then again, they have been saying that for a while.
Grays final four games are against:
East Thurrock United
Maidstone United
Hendon
Kingstonian
