THE General Election poster wars has taken an ugly turn this week after a Thurrock resident tore up a UKIP hoarding posted in the front garden of his dementia-stricken grandmother.
Well-known Thurrock DJ, Leon Rowland went to visit his Nan on the Kenningtons estate in Aveley on Wednesday.
When he go there he saw a very large UKIP hoarding in the front garden of his grandmother’s house.
When he quizzed her about it, she was, (naturally for a dementia sufferer) somewhat confused.
Leon took matters into his own hands and "dismantled" the UKIP sign and duly places the before and after pics on twitter.
Leon said: "If you speak to my Nan, it is quite obvious that dementia has got a grip of her.
"You don’t have to have a medical degree to spot it.
" I rang their Thurrock office and made my feelings plain. They did say that she had given permission."
YT did contact Thurrock UKIP in order to elicit a response but did not receive a reply at the time of publication.
