Football: Thurrock keep play off dreams alive

Ryman Div One North

Soham Town Rangers 0 v 2 Thurrock

THURROCK kept their promotion hopes alive with an impressive 2-0 victory in Soham.

Soham is never an easy place to travel to but the Fleet took care of business.

After weathering an initial storm, they took the lead in the 35th minute with a penalty after Ross Wall was tripped in the area. Aaron Waters stepped up to the spot and scored.

Lewwis Spence made it 2-0 early in the second half after a goalmouth scramble.

Thurrock started the day in fifth position a point clear of Wroxham but with Brightlingsea Regent losing and Wroxham drawing they ended the day one point clear of Dereham Town.

They have two fixtures left: Home to Waltham Abbey and away to Brightlingsea Regent.
