THE Labour candidate for Stanford West, Ella Vine has declared a war on rubbish in the ward.
Ms Vine said: "Some places in Stanford le Hope really suffer from fly-tipping. While we all are responsible to keep public spaces clean and do no throw our rubbish on the ground, it is also a responsibility of landowners to clean their areas.
This, unfortunately not always happens and the example is the totally disgraceful state of the car park in the rear of the shops and residential area in High Street. The piles of rubbish stay there for a very long time. Residents have difficulties parking because of that.
This land is private where nobody claims responsibility to clean it. I have raised this issue to the Chief Executive and the Leader of the Council and I hope to resolve it as soon as possible.
"I feel very passionately about that and when elected I will make keeping Stanford tidy one of my first priorities.
