YOU know God, this "good die young business" is really starting to get on our nerves.

Last week, we reported on the death of Liam Coffey.

Today, it is our sad duty to report the death of Grays man, Jim Ferry.

Jim Ferry was just 45. He died peacefully at home in Thurrock after a long illness.

The news was broken by his devoted and loving wife, Dianna, this morning (Monday).

Dianna said: "It is with with great sadness that I need to let you know that our Iron Man passed away peacefully last night.

He has been the strongest and bravest person I have ever met and I am so proud to have had him as my husband.

He always put people before himself and stayed strong for everyone else. He didn’t show his sadness or pain as he didn’t want to upset people.

"I have lost my soulmate but as I have said before I would do it all over again if I had the chance.

Jim grew up in Hornchurch and went to school there. He was a management consultant specialising in training. He did a lot of work with charities and when he was unable to work anymore he did charity work in St Luke’s and then the Heart Foundation.

Jim’s favourite quotation was this: "Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you choose to deal with it".

Jim, here, as they say, in show business, is one of your best bits.
