THE UKIP councillor for Aveley, cllr Robert Ray remains suspended from the party.
Cllr Ray was suspended in February after receiving a sentence for drink-driving.
With the election now past, YT asked UKIP whether Cllr Ray was back in the fold.
UKIP group leader, Graham Snell said: "Robert is still under suspension by UKIP and, as such, is prohibited from representing UKIP or attending meetings.
"I have been given no indication that his suspension is likely to end soon so, in light of that and after discussion with other group and party members, I have taken the decision to exclude Robert from the UKIP group on Council.
"Robert is still a Councillor and will still attend Council meetings but not as part of the UKIP group".
