IT seemed as though "Save Our Thurrock Libraries" had hit a brick wall with regards to opening up the Corringham Library Garden to work alongside Corringham and Fobbing in Bloom as the wall in the garden was condemned as being unsafe.
Local volunteer Julie Sorrell-Wilde has been working hard to revamp the garden for the local children to use during the warmer weather for reading and half term crafts .
Julie said:" I am determined to get the garden open and make full use of it with the children. It is a lovely place to come and sit in the quiet and read peacefully".
Thankfully, local man Craig Bowers from Trustacraig.com heard about the plight of the library and came forward with an offer to repair and rebuild the wall.
Work was completed on sunday. Craig also removed a troublesome tree and has offered mulch and bark for the borders.
A spokesperson said: "We are just so grateful to Craig and P&P Pointing & Brickwork they have saved the garden, and plans can now go ahead as planned.
