LAST WEEK, we published a filmed interview with Wills Hill residents, Natasha Apps.

In the interview, Ms Apps criticised the standard of repairs made to her property by Thurrock Council.

Ms Apps also made references to anti-social behaviour on the estate, which is just off Abbots Drive in Stanford-le-Hope.

There has been a great deal of reaction to the interview vis our social media channels on Facebook and Twitter.

We were contacted by a neighbour of Ms Apps, Mandy Oliver, who wanted to put her side of the story.

Mandy said: "I have lived here for 31 years and it is a great place to live. We have great neighbours and friends and people are very proud to live here.

You can see how proud they are by the amount of reaction there has been to Ms Apps interview.

I believe that references to dogs barking are mine. We live next door to Ms Apps and we have five dogs. They are ordinary dogs, Two of them are very old. We have never had any complaints. In 31 years, I have not had a complaint from the council.

And to be fair to the council, sometimes they are slow down their job but they eventually get it done. Nobody is perfect.

The streets are safe, any drug dealing problem is a thing of history and can be caused by bad apples in the area.

I know people I say hello to in the area, I know people I have got to know through Facebook.

All I wanted to say is that it is a good area and sometimes it is what you make of it."

"I am proud to live in a little corner of heaven called Wills Hill.
