After losing the toss and being put into bat a top order collapse left Stanford 36-6.
If it weren’t for the clean hitting of Jack Carter (39), Jamie Gray (33) and Andy Freeman (25) the home side would have got nowhere near their eventual total of 127, which was enough to pick up two valuable batting points.
Wood’s opening bowler, Afzal picking up impressive figures of 2-12 from 15 over including an incredible 12 maidens.
After tea Glenn Wooding (53) put Stanford to the sword but Neil Fuller managed to pick up four wickets helpjng the his side to two extra bowling points.
