FRIENDS and neighbours of a Grays mum-of-two who has "lost everything" after fire swept through her house on Tuesday have appealed for help.

There was no injury at the fire in Salisbury Road, Grays on Tuesday afternoon but Melanie Joseph (30) and her two children, aged 5 and 9 have lost everything.

Her close friend Clare said: "Melanie is a wonderful mum of two, a lovely neighbour as well as a hard working self employed hairdresser.

"We are appealing to people’s good nature and help someone out who has lost absolutely everything in the fire including clothes, toys, work equipment, household goods and so much more.

"We are kindly asking for anyone who has a anything they could donate to help start to rebuild their lives and get back on track so the children and Mel herself do not go without.

"We are looking for clothes, preferably boys aged 5-6 years and girls aged 9-10 years.

"Also, any bits you could offer would be great such as household bits, any equipment that would help her get her back in business ( such as hairdressing equipment).

"Any sort of donation would be deeply appreciated and make such a difference as they are sadly left with nothing but the clothes of their back.

The collection point can be 1 Salisbury Road, RM17 6DG (Clare’s address), from which I could pass onto Mel.

"Mel and the family are very distraught and disheartened at this time but with all of our help we could help raise their sprints and rebuild their life."
