THE THURROCK community did, what so often, the Thurrock community does best and that is to respect those who had suffered a personal tragedy.

On Friday, organisations and individuals across the borough held a minutes silence to pay respect to those who died and those who have suffered as a consequence of the terrorist atrocities in Tunisia.

Among the organisations were: Grays Shopping Centre, Lakeside Shopping Centre, William Edwards School, Gateway Academy, Indoor Bowlers at Tilbury, Cambridge Weight Plan Centre Grays, Thurrock Council, Essex Police, Next at Lakeside and distribution centre, One Community in Tilbury, Asda Tilbury, Basildon Hospital, Thurrock Adult Community College, Boots Lakeside, Seabrooke Rise Community House, Mecca Bingo, Surestart in South Ockendon, Thurrock Moto Services, Shaw Primary, The Lodge at Piggs Corner, Orsett Hall and Thurrock libraries.

There were also thousands of individuals who in their own homes and streets , paid their respects.

If we have forgotten anyone, then we do apologise.
