Gidea Park and Romford 2nd XI – 232-8
Stanford-le-Hope 2nd XI – 120 all out
Stanford’s second string lost by 112 runs in their fixture away to Gidea Park and Romford on Saturday.
Stanford did get some early wickets with Neil Fuller once again proving his worth with 2-36 off 9 overs. However, a solid team batting performance from Gidea Park including fifties from Wall and Donnelly threatened to take the game away from the visitors.
After a poor start Stanford never recovered and limped to 120 all out with the last man being bowled with the last ball of the game.
Only Jono Edwards (36) and skipper Drew Robinson (23) managed to get starts. Gidea Park’s Liam Neal did the most damage with 4-16 from 9 overs.
