Fun at Dilkes Park this Friday

LOCAL charity Open Door is delighted to be hosting this year’s ‘Fun In The Park’ in collaboration with the South Ockendon Community Forum on Friday 31st July between 12pm-4pm at Dilkes Park in South Ockendon.

Last year Open Door held it’s first summer event in Purfleet in which over 500 people enjoyed the range of stalls, games and inflatable’s. It was decided that this year, Open Door and S.O.C.F would co-host this year’s event in South Ockendon to raise awareness of the various service’s the two charities provide, ensuring the community have the access to the support and services which are available to them. We anticipate this year’s event to be twice the size of last years event in Purfleet.

Thurrock Open Door is a registered charity, 1125477 that has been working in Thurrock since 1976, promoting the well-being of young people and vulnerable adults through programmes that improve mental health and promote emotional resilience.

On Friday, there will be plenty for the family to do over at Dilkes Park. This event is subsidised through the fundraising efforts of both charities and therefore the entire afternoon has been made as low cost as possible to ensure that the whole family can enjoy everything there is to offer.

Between 12pm-4pm there will be an array of sport, games, and activities combined with several stalls, raffles and tombola’s. Add this to the live music and entertainment including the chance to handle some creepy crawlies and interact with several beautiful live owls you would be mad to miss the ‘Fun In The Park’ next Friday!
