SOUTH Essex College is bringing a silent disco experience to Essex’s premier music festival, V!
Taking place across the weekend of the 22 and 23 August, V sponsored by Virgin Media celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and the College will be joining in the celebrations.
For the first time ever, the College’s University Centre Southend and Thurrock will be bringing a super silent disco tent to entertain the masses.
They’ll also be giving away ‘survival packs’ to lucky festival-goers in handy drawstring bags. The kit includes all the important festival essentials – sunglasses, hand sanitizer, poncho, lip balm and a beach ball, of course!
The goody bags are free, guests just have to register their email addresses on the day to receive one.
V Festival is one of the biggest music festivals in the country, taking place every summer in Hylands Park, Chemlsford.
With amazing live acts, the line-up looks set to be a sure fire hit for any popular music fan with heavyweights such as DJ hero Calvin Harris, Leicester’s finest rockers Kasabian, quirky fashionista Paloma Faith and local lad Olly Murs.
Making his debut on top of the bill, Calvin Harris said: “V Festival is always an incredible time and I can’t wait to headline it this year. See you there!”
Kasabian’s Sergio Pizzorno, said: “V is for victory, V is for voodoo, V is for vacuum cloud, V is for very very very very excited. See you in the fields!”
The College’s Head of Marketing and Communications, Michael Bennett, said: “We want to spread the word about degree programmes available at the College and there is no better place than V.
“Too many local people decide to move away from Essex to study and we want to show them that they can get a fantastic degree whilst having an amazing time in their home county.”
The College are also offering the chance to win two weekend V Festival tickets. For entry details, check out their new student magazine LIFE, available soon from all campus receptions.
