Football: Late strike for Carlos seals three points for Blues

A SUPERB late strike from Joao Carlos earned Grays a fine win at Tonbridge on Tuesday after they battled back fron conceding an early goal.

Tom Parkinson put Angels ahead after just four minutes after Lamar Johnson in Grays’ goal failed to collect the ball cleanly.

But Grays were undaunted and Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson was a particular thorn out wide for the visitors and with Dumebi GB-Dumaka also in fine form they pressed their hosts back.

And when a 26th minute cross from the right was headed back across the Angels goal area to the unmarked GB-Dumaka he made no mistake shooting past Anthony Di Bernado to level things up.

There wa some controversy in the second half when Sonny Miles appeared to have put Angels back in front with a header but the referee was of a different opinion and instantly blew his whistle for an infringement.

From the following freekick, in the 58th minute, Grays rubbed salt into the wound as they broke quickly and GB-Dumaka got his second of the night .

The lead didn’t last long and Luke Blewden put Angels on level terms five minutes later after great work by Tom Phipp.

The winner came three minutes from the end when Carlos struck a fine winner across keeper Anthony Di Bernardo into the top corner.
