THURROCK Council’s highways team, in partnership with Essex police, have put proposals forward that will see a reduced speed limit for Butts Lane, Stanford le Hope.
Current speed restrictions impose a 40mph limit but if no reasonable objections are heard the limit will reduce to 30mph.
In addition to the new speed cap, the highways team also hope to put in place a ‘no waiting’ order in Butts Lane and surrounding roads.
The no waiting zone will partly include some nearby areas like the already mentioned Butts Lane, Prospect Avenue, Augusta Road and St Andrews Way.
