A LEADING UKIP councillor has poured scorn on Tory anger over a planning decision in Thurrock that will allow temporary planning consent for travellers.
On Monday, Tory leader and Little Thurrock councillor, Rob Gledhill expressed his extreme dismay at a planning inspectorate decision over a traveller application on Malvern Road, Litte Thurrock.
But UKIO councillor and MEP, Tim Aker has slammed the Tory leader.
Cllr Aker said: "More hot air from the Thurrock Tories, who’s government sit on their hands while Thurrock becomes a laughing stock.
"I invite councillors Kelly and Gledhill to sign my petition to make illegal traveller sites like the ones in Malvern Road a criminal offence.
"Until their own party has the guts to do something about this in parliament, nothing will change.
"I’m not surprised our MP (Jackie Doyle-Price) has said or done anything on this matter."
