    FA Cup Preliminary Round

    Thurrock 2 v 2 Royston

AN entertaining FA Cup tie ended all square with Thurrock twice battling back from going a goal down.

Royston took the lead after 22 minutes when Rhys Hoenes capitalised on a poor back pass and rounded keeper Jordan Warren to score but Lewwis Spence put Fleet on level terms eight minutes later when he got on the end of a ball from Charlie Stimson.

Just before half time Royston once more took the lead when Hoenes was fouled in the box and Chris Waters scored from the spot.

Thurrock levelled again on 64 minutes when Remi Sutton produced a brilliant volley. Both sides had chances to win it, with Thurrock coming close in the last minute when Ron Yates saved Reece Morgan’s shot.
