Harlow Town 2nd XI – 125 all out
Stanford 2nd XI – 182 all out
SIXTEEN-year-old Jack Carter spun Stanford second eleven to a crucial 25 points to keep them in the fight to avoid relegation going into the last fixture of the season.
Carter took 6-29 from 11 overs and he was well supported by some accurate new ball bowling from Neil Fuller (3-23 from 12.1 overs).
Stanford won the toss and batted first making 182 thanks to an opening stand of 81 from Jordan Dodd (42) and Alex Ellis (40).
But the introduction of spinner Simon Rowell tied the rest of the Stanford batsman up in knots and the away side limped to 182. Skipper Drew Robinson was left stranded on 39 not out as Rowell finished with figures of 8-65 from 18.3 overs.
However, Town’s batsmen could fair no better against Carter and only Jake Messenger (25) and Brian Lall (25) made it past 20 as they were bowled out for 125.
