WEST Tilbury WI held a cheese and wine evening to celebrate the 100 Years Centenary. This was organized by the President Joanne Phillips and the committee
The hall was decorated with bunting, a delirious fruit cake made by member Jane Woodman was decorated in the WI colours of green and white.
There were several invitations to other institutes for their birthday parties.
An outing has been arranged to Perrywood for lunch on Sat 5th December.
The WI’s Christmas meal will be held at the Ship East Tilbury on December 4th.
A new WI is to be started in East Tilbury this will be a daytime meeting.
Next year subscriptions are to rise to £35 00.
Members brought cakes to be sold and instead of the raffle each member gave a donation the total raised was £35 for St Luke’s Hospice.
The evening ended with a Beetle drive with Joy Ridgewell and Dorothy Hawes winning with the highest score.
New programmes were given out.
Next meeting is on October 6th at West Tilbury Village Hall 7pm -9-30pm
