WE are sure that there are random acts of human kindness made by Thurrock residents every day.
Most of them never get noticed.
But here is one that happened on Sunday morning, that we would like to draw to your attention.
Thurrock residents, Brian Lloyd and Lucy Kemish were running in the Harlow 10 mile road race.
They were on the eighth mile, a tough stretch that takes you up the cycle path behind Pennymead. Suddenly, a runner in his seventies fell heavily to the ground.
The runner cried out in pain. Both Lucy and Brian stop immediately and tended to the runner.
Other runners went ahead to alert a marshall to the situation.
Once the runner had been attended to, Lucy and Brian continued with their race.
After the race, they spoke to the editor of YourThurrock, who happened to be running the road race as well.
Lucy said: "We run for fun and were very concerned when (Alan) fell so heavily. He seemed in a lot of pain."
"A marshall was there very quickly. We saw Alan at the end. He seems battered and bruised but OK."
