THE summer holidays are now behind us and it is time to look forward to the second annual Thurrock Education Awards.
Last year the inaugural event proved a big hit, a packed event at the Backstage Centre at High House Production Centre.
The award categories were announced before the summer break and nominations opened then, but now there is just a month to go before nominations close.
Carmel Littleton, Thurrock Council’s Director of Children’s Services, said: “I was really impressed last year, not only by the standard and overall number of nominations, but also by the way our education community as a whole embraced the idea.
“Celebrating our successes was a key recommendation of the education commission and it was a real pleasure to be able to do so.
“I have no doubt this year will be bigger and better too!”
The sponsors who have already signed up for the 2015 event, on Friday 20 November at the same venue as last year – are:
