NATIONAL Express train operator c2c and local community groups jointly known as Tilbury Spirit, combine to give Tilbury residents a free day out to Southend-on-Sea on Saturday 5 September 2015.
The 160 passengers made up of local families were transported to a great day out in Southend, courtesy of c2c. The sun came out a little later during the day all were treated to a free classic and super car show. Many made the most of the beach, whilst others enjoyed the fair rides and sea life.
c2c Group Station Manager Julie Davis said: "We’ve worked closely with the Tilbury Spirit community group over the last few years, and we’re delighted our special private train proved so popular and so many local people enjoyed their free day out."
Tilbury St Chads Councillor Steve Liddiard said “There were smiles all round but lots of weary children on the way home. A great success for Tilbury Community organisations”.Â
Tilbury Spirit also in partnership with c2c train maintain the beautiful flower beds at Tilbury Town station.
