THIRTY-FIVE swimmers from Thurrock Swimming Club swapped pool time for outdoor adventure time by spending their weekend at Stubbers Outdoor Adventure Centre in Upminster.
Not completely away from water the youngsters took part in kayaking, banana rides, archery, high ropes, team challenge, Laser Tag and the utlimate challenge, raft building.
The sun shone for most of the September weekend with a family BBQ taking place on Saturday evening for parents of. swimmers attending over the weekend.
The Stubbers weekend is a Thurrock Swimming Club yearly tradition going back as far back as 2005. This years weekend was organised by the Club Secretary, Hazel Day, and team leader volunteers were Paul Mayes, Lee Patterson, Sean Jarvis and Sandra Brennan who also took part in the weekends group activities. Other volunteer helpers were sonia Aitmarri, Tara Mayes and Corinne Williams.
Jack Petchey Funding of £750 was used towards the weekend donated by Francesca Day from her Jack Petchey Leader Award.
Well done to all of those who made the weekend run smoothly and for the swimmers to have a good weekend, and the swimmers were back to full training Monday morning !
