Statement from ambulance service
We received a call at 00:38 am to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian. We sent an ambulance, Rapid Response Vehicle and a BASICS Dr.
The ambulance team treated a 19 year old female and she was taken by ambulance to the Royal London Hospital with serious and potentially life threatening injuries

Police statement
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of GBH, driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs, driving whilst disqualified, dangerous driving, driving without insurance and failing to stop, following an incident in Stanford-le-Hope in the early hours of this morning.
Police were contacted at around 12.45am today, (Saturday, September 19) with reports of a road traffic collision involving a red Vauxhall Corsa and a pedestrian in Corringham Road.
The vehicle failed to stop at the scene and the pedestrian, a 19-year-old woman, sustained serious and potentially life-threatening injuries.
Officers located the vehicle near Godman Road in Chadwell St Mary and arrested a 27-year-old man from South Ockendon nearby. He remains in custody being questioned by detectives.

A MAN has been arrested following a road traffic incident in Stanford-le-Hope.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning (Sept 19th).
The location is understood to be Corringham Road.
