    Chelmsford 20 v 36 Thurrock

    THE game never matched the intensity of the previous week but Thurrock showed a determined attitude against newly promoted Chelmsford

    Thurrock were quick out of the blocks with two forward tries n the first ten minutes with Charlie Russo at the bottom of a rolling maul quickly followed by captain Reece Durrance who broke off from a similar position to score closer to the posts with Jake Barrand adding the conversion. Chelmsford got back into the game with a penalty quickly followed by a converted try against the run of play to bring the game back to 12-10

    But Thurrock again began to assert themselves and the back got into the action when Alex Jones jinked over to score the Freddie Russo added the bonus point try, Barrand added both conversions to increase the lead to 26-10, but copy book try to their first the home side added their second try to reduce the deficit to just 11 points

    The second half was marred by silly penalties and there was very little momentum in th game in fact it took over 20 minutes for either side to add to the score line with Barrand adding a simple penalty in front of the posts, before Dan Carey finished off a fine move starting with Hagen Mumba high up and under the bounce was unkind but the ball ended in Thurrock hands and Carey was on hand to finish the move, Barrand again adding the conversion. The home side added a late consolation try but were never close enough to Thurrock although not at there best secured a deserved 5 point win
