Thurrock Harriers athlete gains England vest

UNDER 15 Thurrock Harriers athlete, William Adeyeye (who attends Willian Edwards School) competed at the Bedford Athletics Stadium on Saturday 19th September at the ESAA English School Combined Events Championship.

William was part of the Essex Team who won the team trophy with a total of 8480 points. The Team is now the number one Essex team, with an all time highest score.

In the individual pentathlon, William came third overall, gaining a bronze medal and earning him his England Vest. He shall be representing England at the international pentathlon competition at Glasgow in December.

He achieved a PB in his overall points of 2965 outdoor, he also gained a PB in HJ with a height of 1.73m.

William also holds a new ESAA school record in Shot for junior boys after throwing a distance of 16.59m, not only did the throw keep him as the number one in the UK for his age group for 2015 but also moved him to number 9 in the U15 all time list.

His other results were: Hurdles 11.31s, Long jump 6.23m and 800m 2.55s.

Everyone at Thurrock Harriers are very proud of William’s efforts this year and look forward to seeing him compete in Glasgow later this year.
