PATRICK Calvento, a Palmer’s College 2nd Year student was a finalist at Basildon Council’s ‘Play Your Part Volunteer Awards 2015’.
Patrick, who is studying AS level Heath and Social Care, Sociology and Psychology was nominated in the ‘Young Volunteer (13-19)’ category.
He was recognised for his work at the Papworth Trust helping and supporting disabled and older people in the community.
Patrick said: ‘I really enjoyed working with people at the Papworth Trust. The volunteer programme at Palmer’s is a great way to give back the community. I recommend that other students get involved. It’s really fulfilling and you feel great making other people smile.
