YOU may have heard of Bigfoot, the Abominable Snowman or even the Yeti but now Thurrock may have the strange case of the Long Lane streakers!
A few weeks ago, a film of two men running naked (apart from shoes and socks) down Long Lane was posted on social media sites.
It is not a site you see every day in Stifford Clays.
This was followed up on Sunday by another photo posted of another male, sans apparel, in the Long Lane area.
Who could they be?
The thread on the Facebook page suggested it was part of an initiation ceremony at Thurrock Rugby Club. It was suggested that it had to do with "making your debut on an away fixture"
Opinion was divided on Facebook as to whether it was a harmless piece of fun or something that they would rather their children did not see.
So we got in contact with Thurrock Rugby Club. 1st XV coach, Dean White said he had "No Knowledge" whilst the club secretary said: "If it is Thurrock rugby club then it is not something that the management committee would endorse or condone".
