HARRISON Jarvis and Gracie Mae Martin from Thurrock Swimming Club were selected to represent the East Region at the English National Schools Championships held in Leeds. This meet has the best swimmers in the country competing for their region and their school.
Harrison, having just returned from illness swam a great 200 breast finishing in a time of 3.03.40 – which was a 3 second personal best time. He equalled his 100m personal best on the 100m mark.
Gracie Mae also swam the 200 breast and achieved a 6 sec PB in the event finishing 6th overall in a time of 2.58.80. She also smashed her 100m PB at the 100m mark. Gracie then had to compete in the 400 free five minutes after the 200 breast. She finished 7th but smashed her PB by 4.5 secs.
What is impressive is that both swimmers were swimming with swimmers who were 1-2 years older and they are able to compete in the same age group for the next 2 years.
