Corringham man charged with arson attack at Stanford-le-Hope petrols station

A MAN has been charged with four offences following an incident at a petrol station in Stanford-le-Hope.

Police were called to the BP station at London Road, shortly after 1am on Saturday October 10, following reports that a man was tampering with a petrol pump and trying to set fire to the nozzle.

Officers were quickly on scene and arrested a man.

Glen Squibb 25, of Digby Road, Corringham was charged with attempted arson with intent to endanger life, possessing cannabis, possessing a knife in public and also with assaulting a member of staff at the petrol station.

He was bailed to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on October 23.
