    Thurrock 34 v 42 Old Priorians

THURROCK’S unbeaten start came to an abrupt end, but it was down to a very strange 10 minute spell midway through the second half when the home side conceded three tries in that time and all of sudden a game they controlled was taken away from them.

Thurrock led 27-14 then trailed 35-27 with 15 minutes to go, then the visitors added another try in controversial circumstances when the Old P’s centre knocked on play stopped, the winger picked up and the referee gave the try much to the astonishment of all the players.

Thurrock conceded a converted try early on but tries from Tom Pool and Bradleigh Retigan both converted by Tom Worsfold who also added two penalties to lead 20-14 at the break. Alex Jones added a third try from a line out move Worsfold again converting, and things looked favourable for the home side.

Falling behind 42-27 Thurrock rallied with rousing finale Jake Barrand added Thurrock 4th try for the bonus point Worsfold again scoring as Thurrock tried to get another point to get within 7 points but fell short on three occasions it was not to be.

Thurrock now have a week off and battle recommences when they visit Brentwood on 24th October where the match kicks off at 1pm
