Thieß wer Held to a draw by Great Wakering Rovers at Mill Field.
Aveley opened the scoring after just four minutes through Abs Seymour. Rovers pulled a goal back through Jake Gordon after fifteen minutes.
And that is how it remained.
Aveley remain in twelfth place but have four games in hand on the leaders.
They return to action on Saturday, away against Soham Town Rangers.
