EAST Thurrock boss John Coventry may not be au fait with the work of writer John Milton but his words from there seventeenth century that "Long is the way and hard that leads up to light" seems somewhat applicable to East Thurrock.
The Rocks grabbed an impressive 3-0 victory against league leaders Leiston with three goals by Sam Higgins in the 57th, 70th and 75th minutes.
The Rocks may only be in 17th position but they have games in hand and have become difficult to beat in the league. You just suspect that a little run in coming together down at Rookery Hill.
Rocks return to action away against Bognor Regis Town on Saturday.
