Appeal after Thurrock soldier has his medals stolen after burglars ransack house in Stanford-le-Hope

A SERVING British soldier is appealing for help from the Thurrock public after his war medals were stolen in a burglary at his house in Stanford-le-Hope.

Jonathan Butler, (23) serves with the 10 Signal Regiment. He was away from his home in Warren Close, Stanford-leHope for two weeks.

When he returned, he discovered that he had been burgled. Amongst the items stolen were two medals: A NATO medal awarded to Jonathan for operational duties performed and an Operational Service medal for duties performed in Afghanistan.

Jonathan has served in the army for over six years. He has served all over the world and has undertaken five tours of duty in Afghanistan.

The name Butler and the last four digits 8950 will be on the back of the medals.

We will get a picture of the medals in due course.
