Rotary reach out to Nepal

THE Rotary Club Thurrock Gateway and The Esther Benjamin Trust, which works in Nepal, have succeeded in initiating a Global Grant to the sum of $54,472,working with the Rotary Club of Brentwood a Becket, The Rotary Club of Torquay and in Nepal The Rotary Club of Durbamarg.

They will significantly reduce the prospect of children, especially girls, from being trafficked to India to work in circuses, as slaves and within the sex trade and to provide education and support in order to reduce child trafficking from Makawanpu.(see photo 1 & 2)

The Rotary Club of Thurrock Gateway are also one of the only clubs in the UK to be successfully involved with two Global Grants at the same time, having just finalised a Rotary Distance Education Programme in India, with a cost of $66,000.(see photo 3)
