IF there’s one sign that we are now in full Christmas mode, it’s when you see the new John Lewis advert on the TV.
This year’s advert has been released on Youtube, the two-minute video showing the story of a little girl called Lily who makes friends with a man of the moon.
Nowegian singer Aurora Aksnes’ cover of the Oasis classic Half the World Away has been picked for the video, which will no doubt rack up millions of views in the next couple of mont
The advert differs from last year’s hugely popular £7 million Monty the Penguin campaign, which earned the shop much more in retail sales.
It is thought sales of the stuffed penguin alone made the retailer £18m in revenue.
The advert will be shown twice in full on TV, once on Friday night and once during the X Factor on Saturday.
A shorter version will be shown on TV in the six-weeks running up to Christmas.
