Drugs bust reveals 400 cannabis plants in South Ockendon

POLICE Officers from the Operational Support Group discovered the plants after executing two search warrants this morning, 12 November.

The address contained a complex set up of electrical equipment including lamps and fans, estimated to be worth several thousand pounds.

At present officers are making further enquiries in relation to the owners of the address. The neighbourhood policing team will be looking to secure arrests in the immediate future.

Inspector Lee Devall said “There is obvious concern about the negative effects that the use, supply and production of illegal drugs can have on our communities. These warrants were carried out as part of our ongoing work to disrupt the sale of illegal drugs and the criminality that goes with it.

“We would urge anyone who has any concerns or information about drug crime in their community to call Essex Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
