POLICE were called at 5.50pm on Saturday November 14 with reports a man had been assaulted in Drake Road, Chafford Hundred.
Officers and the ambulance service attended.
A 46-year-old man from Grays had been slashed across the face and was taken to hospital with a cut, which required stitches.
He has since been discharged from hospital.
Enquiries are ongoing.
