Man stabbed in Grays

A man was stabbed after being approached by five men in Grays.

The victim, aged 30, was walking with a friend along the sea wall between Wouldham Road and Grays yacht club when they were approached by the group at 11.55pm on Tuesday (November 17).

Following what police describe as a "verbal altercation", one of the men assaulted the victim with a knife, leaving him with stab wounds to his back.

The suspects are described as being in their mid-20s. Two of the men are described as being white, two black and one mixed-race.

Officers are especially keen to speak to the driver of a dark coloured saloon car which was flagged down by the victim after the assault.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Daniel Harfield at Grays Police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
