Come and enjoy Christmas at the Coalhouse Fort

THE Christmas season is fast approaching and the Thurrock Council’s team at Coalhouse Fort is inviting families to come along to festive filled event this December.

You can follow Alice down the rabbit hole in search of the White Rabbit and meet some of her friends along the way, making sure you keep an eye out for the Queen of Hearts of course.

Walks will be held every half hour from 10am until 4pm and tickets are on sale from the Thameside Theatre box office from Thursday.

The walks run from Coalhouse Fort, East Tilbury, on Saturday and Sunday, 12 and 13 December.

Tickets are £12 per child with their accompanying adult going free.

The search for the White Rabbit will lead everyone around the fort’s underground tunnels and through the magical world of Wonderland, finishing with a visit to Santa and a present for the children.

This event is not suitable for children under three years old. Only one adult will be allowed to accompany each paying child on the tour. Other family members can meet them at the tea room.

The walks are not suitable for people who dislike confined spaces as they will be inside a tunnel. The floor could be wet so please ensure that you wear waterproof shoes or wellies and wrap up warm.

The interactive pantomime based on Alice in Wonderland is being funded by the Heritage Lottery and Veolia North Thames Trust.

Tickets can be bought online at any time (thurrock.gov.uk/events), or call the box office on 0845 300 5264 from Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm, and Saturdays between 10am and 1pm.

The box office counter is open on Saturdays only, from 10am to 1pm.
