Thurrock Writers’ Circle: December report

THURROCK Writers Circle have celebrated their 20th Anniversary this year, Their celebratory meal didn’t go to plan so a Christmas Party was arranged that was a huge success.

Members supplied a buffet. The Christmas short story competition winner Mary Vear was presented with her Trophy, certificate and prize by Chairman Joy Ridgewell who came second. The stories were read out making this an entertaining evening Wendy Mach read out an historic story of China and Imogene Burns gave one of her intriguing dark tales. Tina Thompson supplied a quiz.

This year we have had a variety of members come and go, our last visitor was Sue Merrit who we hope will join us in the New Year, she has just had her Romantic History novel " That Despicable Rouge" under her pen name Victoria Heath, accepted by Mills and Boon.

The Hamper, first prize in the Christmas raffle was won by Charlotte August.

Next meeting is at the Hugh Delargy Complex Hall Chadwell St Mary RM16 4DB on January 6th 2016 at 7-30pm -9-30pm.

A Very Happy New Year to all our members past and present.
