c2c Managing Director Julian Drury said: “We have listened to all the feedback passengers have given us, good and bad, and as promised we are making alterations. This will relieve crowding on the busiest trains, while still providing a frequent service for those who want to travel to or from these stations. It will also help to ensure a punctual service for all passengers.

“Thank you to all our customers for bearing with us over the first few days of the new timetable. We promised we would provide a high-quality journey, a promise we fully intend to keep. I know that isn’t what some passengers have experienced in the first few days of the new timetable. I hope all our passengers find we return to our usual high standards in the run-up to Christmas, and through into 2016.”
